Infield rig moves
A majority of the Group’s revenues are attributable to infield rig moving services. Infield rig moving is a complex logistics service that requires meticulous planning, timely delivery and safe execution. Each rig has a specific number of loads that have to be moved in an agreed sequence from the old location to the new. This sequence is determined based on the status of rig operations on the day of pre-move where the Rig Manager and our Rig Move Supervisor liaise in order to agree the sequence of loading.
Given the many operational variables, the sequence of loading on a rig is subject to change and this is where our expertise and experience ensures that despite these perpetually changing scenarios we are able to adapt our plan in order to ensure that the rig is moved safely from one location to another.
In addition to moving drilling rigs, we also move the rig mini camps and main camps from one location to another often coordinating this with the Royal Oman Police (O&G division) who provide for the escort of wide loads and ensure that other road users are kept away from our convoys of oversized loads.We pride ourselves on completing the job on time and if this means that we need to work into the night, we will continue to do so with appropriate safety measures that include management of risk, adequate mobile lighting and necessary approvals. This ensures that the rig can spud well before target time which enhances our customer’s ability to achieve their drilling targets.
